General Manager Jim Barker:
Okay, everybody take a seat.  As you know, the CFL entry draft is coming up quickly, and we need to look at what we’re gonna do to make the Argos a strong contender for the future.  So, let’s make it an open forum.  Let’s brainstorm here.  Who wants to start.

Head Coach Scott Milanovich:
Good morning, gentlemen.
To follow up on my emails prior to today’s discussion, I’ve printed off each of the 72 PDFs in regard to the upcoming draft.  (Begins handing out large bound volumes around the table)  As I had some free time this weekend, I decided to work out some long range projections.  I’m told the printers should have those next eighteen draft projections back within the next week.

Barker:
Hold on, Scott.  Are you saying you’re projecting the Argos draft board for the next eighteen years?

Milanovich:
…It was only a two day weekend.

Barker:
Okay…I appreciate your preparation, but let’s focus on this year’s draft for now.

Milanovich:
You sure?  I think we should start positioning ourselves to pick first in the 2032 draft.  This Haque kid is the real deal.

Barker:
…Uh-huh.  we’ll revisit that one shortly, Scott.

Milanovich:
Of course.  If you need anything more from me, I’ll just be scripting the first 122 plays we’ll be running on offence this season.

Barker:
Who’s next?

940-burke-bombers

Defensive Coordinator Tim Burke:
Well…They ways I’s sees it…We should consider moving our first pick for a quarterback.  I don’t think we’ve got a reliable replacement for Buck Pierce in the organization…

Barker:
Ummm…Tim…

Burke:
I think we’ve got a solid defender in Sears to build the defense around, so maybe we can look at the line in the second round.

Barker:
Tim…

Burke:
Hey, anybody going to the Jets game tonight?

Barker:
*sigh*  Next!

rickyrayQuarterback Ricky Ray:
Hey Jim, I was watching some scout footage & I saw a couple guys that could contribute right away.  I don’t know what school it was, but the one guy might be a med student, as everyone called him, “Doctor Banner.” Anyway, this Banner guy is huge. And when I say huge, I mean a hulk!  Strong, fast, plays angry.  This guy could work on both sides of the ball.  He’d be a great pass rusher or could protect my blindside.  The other guy might’ve been RMC, as he definitely had a military vibe.  A great tactician and a natural athlete, and he even already has an, “A” on his helmet!  Anyway, I’ve brought the game tape with me so you guys can see with your own eyes.

Barker:
…Ricky, just so we’re clear, this isn’t scouting footage; this is a copy of, “The Avengers.”  As much as I’d love to draft The Hulk and Captain America, not only are neither of them Canadian, but they don’t exist.

Ray:
…You sure?

Barker:
Yes.

Ray:
Really?

Barker:
One hundred percent.

Ray:
Dang.  Well, I’ve got nuthin’.

Barker:
Right.  Moving on!

BradwellWide Receiver Mike Bradwell:
Whoever you pick, make sure he’s at least 7’6″.

Barker:
Uh…Why?

Bradwell:
Because I’m 6’3″.

Barker:
Uh-huh.  And…?

Bradwell:
He’s gotta be at least that height to blow dry my hair from an effective angle without a wrist cramp.

Barker:

How will that help the team?

Bradwell:
…Seriously?

Ray:
How ’bout we draft an average sized guy & we get Mike a decent chair?

Bradwell:
That could work, too.  You got a chair guy, One Five?

Ray:
You bet, Eights!  After we wrap this up, I’ll introduce ya.

Barker:
ANYONE ELSE???

chadowens

Slotback Chad Owens:
‘Sup brah?  Yo, check it.  Got this team’s entire season right here.  Sounds like their Rush End could be a game-changer…As long as he stays clean.

*drops DVD on the desk*

*sigh*
Okay, good meeting, team.  I…Uh…I think we’re ready.

Milanovich:
Great.  Now, about the 2032 draft…
